Cristie Software

Cristie Software provides fast automated recovery of Windows, Linux or Unix servers that have failed - either because of disaster, hardware failure or corruption of the operating system. TBMR is a unique software plugin for TSM which will recover an operating system directly from the normal TSM backup. Recoveries can be made to dissimilar hardware and to any recovery point (RPO) that is available in TSM.

Most other BMR products require a second backup of the operating system files to be made at regular intervals which not only consumes additional storage space but also introduces another backup application that has to be scheduled, monitored and managed. TBMR is sold worldwide by IBM and other resellers alongside CBMR (Cristie Bare Machine Recovery).

IBM

In IBM's view, today's networked economy has created a global business landscape and a mandate for business change. Integrated global economies have opened markets of new opportunity and new sources of skills. The Internet has enabled communication and collaboration across the world and brought with it a new computing model premised on continuous global connection. In that landscape, companies can distribute work and technology anywhere in the world.

Given these opportunities, IBM is working with its clients to develop new business designs and technical architectures that allow their businesses the flexibility required to compete in this new landscape. The business is also adjusting its footprint toward emerging geographies, tapping their double-digit growth, providing the technology infrastructure they need, and taking advantage of the talent pools they provide to better service the company’s clients.

Our values as IBMers shape everything we do, every choice we make on behalf of this company. Having a shared set of values helps us make decisions and, in the process, makes our company great. But their real influence occurs when we apply these values to our personal work and our interactions with one another and the wider world. IBMers determined that our actions will be driven by these values:

  • Dedication to every client's success
  • Innovation that matters, for our company and for the world
  • Trust and personal responsibility in all relationships

IBM's clients include many different kinds of enterprises, from sole proprietorships to the world's largest organizations, governments and companies representing every major industry and endeavor. The majority of the company's enterprise business, which excludes the company's original equipment manufacturer (OEM) technology business, occurs in industries that are broadly grouped into six sectors:

  • Financial Services: Banking, Financial Markets, Insurance
  • Public: Education, Government, Healthcare, Life Sciences
  • Industrial: Aerospace, Automotive, Defense, Chemical and Petroleum, Electronics
  • Distribution: Consumer Products, Retail, Travel, Transportation
  • Communications: Telecommunications, Media and Entertainment, Energy and Utilities
  • Small and Medium Business: Mainly companies with less than 1,000 employees

Rocket Software

Rocket Software was founded in 1990 with an initial focus on developing and delivering software solutions to IBM mainframe customers deploying IBM DB2. Within the first five years, Rocket licensed all of its intellectual property to IBM, and all of Rocket's products were rebranded and licensed to enterprises through IBM's worldwide sales channel.
Since those early years, Rocket has expanded its software OEM business to cover a wide spectrum of enterprise infrastructure products in the areas of Business Intelligence, Storage, Networks, Terminal Emulation, Integration, Security, and Database. And in addition to IBM, Rocket has licensed its products to a number of major OEMs that include Microsoft, RSA, EMC, Nortel, Motorola, and HP.
In parallel with a significant R&D investment in developing software products, Rocket Software began a series of strategic acquisitions in 2000. As a result, Rocket now has well over 100 software products that are licensed both through OEM partners and resellers, and via direct sales through Rocket's acquired branded sales channels, such as Mainstar, Servergraph, CorVu, BlueZone, and Seagull.
Rocket values the technical skills and deep domain expertise of the employees at the companies we acquire. We endeavor to keep the teams intact and entrust them to manage and expand the product lines that they initially created. This philosophy has allowed Rocket to grow to more than 700 employees around the world, including Eastern and Western Europe, Australia, Asia and North America.
